In 2002 the Austin City Limits Music Festival began. By coincidence in 2003
a trip to Austin was scheduled at the same time as the fest. Although there
is no way to see them all, this has to be one of the best all around music
festivals in the world. |

A shining example
of what commercial radio could and should be. What is everybody else thinking?! |
| |
St. Louis' public radio station and the only place left where DJ's actually
pick the music. |
| |
Lindenwood
University's station. This station actually has a music director that picks
good songs. |

Ever see a violin being made? You can here. Then Geoff or Mark Renard can
play it for you. But don't ask for "Devil Went Down to Georgia". |
| |
Since 1980
when John Higgins worked on all of our guitars, Gravity has been the place
to go for guitar work and to look at all the cool guitars. |

Great microbrewery in the shadow of Anheuser-Busch. Props to the Schlafly's
for supporting live music at both of their locations. |

A bar that's
been a bar in historic St. Charles, MO for over 100 years. A great place
to get up close and personal with the band. |
| |
That's
right "The Famous Bar", not the famous department store. |
| |
The Saint Louis
Symphony Orchestra. The next time someone says "do you want to go to
the symphony?" Don't wait, say "yes" and go sit as close
as you can. These guys are awesome. |

Dangerous
Kitchen: The Subversive World of Frank Zappa. Yes this book is about FZ,
but not just about music. Some predictions are very accurate.
GO SEE DWEEZEL When "Zappa
Plays Zappa" comes to town. GO One of the best rock concerts I have
ever seen. Certainly one of the best in a long time. |

I have to give
"highest honors" to Steve Schankman for putting on a very fine
tribute to one of the best band leaders and inpirations to many horn players.
I had the pleasure of being in the audience with my buddy Brian Casserly
and a bunch of other musicians at this concert. Buy
the DVD. |

Anybody
who listens to any kind of music needs to have these discs. If you have
ever played any instrument, you need to have these discs. If you own "The
Incredibles" you have already heard this band. Boy do I miss Doc Severenson
and the Johnny Carson Tonight Show Band. |
